Summary Brief (Agreements/Contracts only)
1. Prepared by: Renee Hayes, Procurement Manager, PMD.
2. Parties: City of Port St. Lucie and Carmeuse Lime & Stone, Inc., a foreign corporation authorized to do business in the State of Florida.
3. Purpose: To provide Pebble Quicklime for the City's lime softening water treatment process.
4. New/Renewal/Modified: New.
5. Duration: The initial term is the date of execution through 09/30/2025, with the option to renew for three (3) additional one (1)-year periods.
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: Utilize the New Smyrna Beach Utilities ITB# 27-24 to provide pebble quicklime that was competitively bid to offer the best value to the City.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): The unit price per ton is $525.53. The Utility Systems Department estimates expenditures for fiscal year 2024-2025 in the amount of $460,000.00. Future expenditures will be appropriated in each years' budget.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve, per Sec. 35.08(a)(10)(b) of the City's Code of Ordinances, to participate in the New Smyrna Beach Utilities ITB #27-24 for Water and Wastewater Chemicals.

Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve entering in New Smyrna Beach Utilities ITB #24-27 for Water and Wastewater Chemicals.
2. Move that the Council not approve and provide staff with direction.
