Executive Summary (General Business): Staff is requesting that the City Council approve the selection of artist Talley Fisher for the design, fabrication, and installation of suspended artwork in the City Hall lobby. This project aligns with the City's public art goals, complements the City's branding, and will contribute to a visually welcoming community environment.
Presentation Information: Staff and Anna Talarico, the city's consultant with Designing Local, will make a presentation.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the City Council select and approve to move forward with a contract to commission Talley Fisher for the City Hall Lobby Suspended Artwork.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the City Council amend the recommendation and approve to move forward with a contract to commission suspended artwork for the City Hall Lobby.
2. Move that the City Council not approve the recommendation and provide alternative direction to staff (i.e., reject, or revise scope).
Background: On October 2, 2025, the Public Art Advisory Board voted to accept the Selection Committee's recommendation and advance it as their formal recommendation for endorsement of the proposed public art to the City Council.
The City of Port St. Lucie is commissioning a suspended artwork for the interior vestibule of the newly remodeled City Hall. The project aims to enhance the civic space with a visually impactful and site-responsive installation.
