Executive Summary (General Business): The City desires to convey a utility easement in favor of public utilities at a City-owned utility site. The 10' utility easement is non-exclusive and in close proximity to a City-owned water treatment facility.

Presentation Information: N/A

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve Ordinance 22 - authorizing the Mayor or her designee to grant a 10' non-exclusive utility easement.

Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve Ordinance 22 - authorizing the Mayor or her designee to grant a 10' non-exclusive utility easement.
2. Move that the Council not approve Ordinance 22 - and provide staff with direction.

Background: The specific public utility seeking the easement at this time is Florida City Gas. The City of Port St. Lucie could benefit from the close proximity of a natural gas line at various Utility sites throughout the service area.

Issues/Analysis: The easement is non-exclusive and serves a municipal purpose.

Financial Information: N/A.

Special Consideration: The Utility Systems Department will consider natural gas as an alternative energy source where service is available.
