Executive Summary (General Business): Staff requests City Council adopt Resolution 26-RXX and approve the updated Planning & Zoning fee schedule. The proposed fee schedule updates existing fees and establishes new fees for services currently provided at no charge to better align fee revenue with the cost of providing Planning & Zoning services. The proposed schedule also provides for annual inflationary adjustments to help maintain cost alignment over time.

Background: The Planning & Zoning fee schedule has not undergone a major comprehensive update since 2007. As part of the City’s efforts to better align user fees with the cost of providing services, the City retained MGT Impact Solutions to conduct an independent cost recovery study. The study evaluated the actual cost of providing Planning & Zoning services and identified a current cost recovery level of approximately 56%. Using the results of the study, staff developed the proposed fee schedule, which includes adjustments to existing fees and new fees for certain services currently provided at no charge. ...
