Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council and award Contract #20220116 and enter into a unit price contract with Ferreira Construction Southern Division Co., Inc. for the Gatlin Blvd. Adaptive Signal Control Project that is funded by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Local Agency Program (LAP) Grant.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and award Contract #20220116.
2. Move that the Council not award Contract #20220116 and provide staff with direction.
Background: Installation of the adaptive traffic signal control system will increase mobility and safety for the public. The adaptive signal control system will have an anticipated useful life of 30 years. The 2 existing signalized intersections in the vicinity of the Interstate 95 interchange are excluded as the adaptive signal control equipment will be installed as part of the interchange improvements currently under construction.
