Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve Lots 15 & 16, Block 700, Port St. Lucie Section 18 as surplus and dispose of property at the optimum price. The address of this property is 671 SE Port St. Lucie Boulevard.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the property as surplus and make available for sale.
2. Move that the Council not approve the property for surplus and retain in the City's inventory.
Background: This property was acquired in 2014 for the future expansion of Floresta Drive which included Lots 15-20; however, the City only wants Lots 15 & 16 declared as surplus. The City's Health Clinic had an interest in occupying Lots 15 & 16 where 671 SE Port St. Lucie Boulevard building stands. Due to ADA concerns and the cost to make the upgrades, that did not happen.
Public Works has confirmed that Lots 15 & 16 are not needed for the Floresta Drive Expansion Project and the Clinic is no longer interested in occupying the building, staff is recommending the property be declared surplus and made available for sale. Recently the City has received inquires from private parties wanting to acquire the property from the City.
