Executive Summary (General Business): The Utility Systems Department (USD) wishes to recognize the winners of American Water Works Association, Florida Section (FSAWWA), 28th annual statewide “Drop Savers” Water Conservation Poster Contest.
Presentation Information: 10 minutes, Jenny Tomes, USD, will provide a brief overview of the poster contest, display the winning posters.
Staff Recommendation: Request that the Council acknowledge the efforts of the winners for submitting quality drawings for the contest.
Background: Port St. Lucie Utility Systems Department invited St. Lucie County public school students to participate in American Water Works Association, Florida Section (FSAWWA), 28th annual statewide “Drop Savers” Water Conservation Poster Contest. Students were asked to create a poster earlier this year with a water conservation theme. A total of 7 schools participated and 180 entries were submitted from students in grades Kindergarten through 12th. A winner was chosen from each participating grade.
Issues/Analysis: Each winner and their posters have been submitted to the FSAWWA statewide poster contest, which will be held in mid-April.
