Executive Summary (General Business): Hurricane Milton made landfall on the evening of Wednesday, October 9, 2024 as a Category 3 Hurricane. Hurricane Milton hit the City of Port St. Lucie with tropical storm force winds, confirmed tornadoes within the City of Port St. Lucie, and wind gusts at Category 1 Hurricane strength. The City continues assessing damages and providing assistance to neighboring jurisdictions, necessitating the extension of the City's State of Local Emergency.
Presentation Information: The City Manager will be available to answer questions if needed.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council Approve the Resolution.

1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and provide further direction.
Background: Pursuant to Chapter 98 of the Code of Ordinances, the City Manager has authority to declare a state of local emergency, which he did on October 9, 2024. The City Council approved and ratified the Declaration via Resolution 24-R80. Hurricane Milton made landfall on the West coast of Florida as a category 3 hurricane. Hurricane Milton hit the City of Port St. Lucie with tropical storm force winds, confirmed tornadoes within the City of Port St. Lucie, and wind gusts at Category 1 Hurricane strength.
