3. Purpose: The City wishes to contract with a contractor for the rehabilitation and maintenance of the Utility Systems Department ("USD") Floridan and surficial wells, which provide raw water for three water treatment plants.
4. New/Renewal/Modified: New.
5. Duration: The term of the contract is 3-years with an option to renew for two (2) additional one-year periods.
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: To maintain and rehabilitate these wells to ensure a sustainable water source for both the Prineville and James E. Anderson ("JEA") Water Treatment Facilities.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): The USD estimates an annual expenditure of $700,000.00. Future expenditures will be appropriated in each fiscal year budget.

Background: The USD operates and maintains 47 wells (29 surficial wells/18 Floridan wells). The work in this maintenance and rehabilitation contract consists of pulling pump and column pipes, inspecting, and testing the well, back-plugging, acidizing, redeveloping, sanitizing, and reinstalling or replacing the pump equipment.
