Executive Summary (General Business): An application for approval of a 145,775 square foot manufacturing and distribution center that is proposed to be constructed in three phases. Phase I includes a three-story building with 26,651 square feet of manufacturing space, 19,218 square feet of office space, and 7,874 square feet of warehouse space. Phase II will add an additional 32,901 square feet of manufacturing space and Phase III will add an additional 57,851 square feet of manufacturing space.
Presentation Information: Staff may provide a short presentation.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the site plan as recommended by the Site Plan Review Committee on January 9, 2019.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the site plan.
2. Move that the Council not approve the site plan and provide staff direction.
Background: On July 23, 2018, the City Council adopted Resolution 18-R55 approving an economic incentive package for Oculus Optikgerate GmbH (Project Glaze). On November 19, 2018, the Government Finance Corporation (GFC) adopted Resolution 18-GFC-05 authorizing negotiation and preparation of a sale agreement with Oculus Surgical, Inc. for 9.75 acres of land legally described as Southern Grove Plat 14, Lot 4. On December 5, 2018, Oculus Surgical, Inc. submitted an application for site plan approval.
