Executive Summary: Proposed amendment to Chapter 155, “Sign Code” and Chapter 153, “Definitions”, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Port St. Lucie to Add Electric Message Sign regulations specifically for the Institutional zoning district, and related definitions.
Presentation Information: Staff will provide a presentation.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Board recommend approval.

1. Move that the Board amend the recommendation and recommend approval.
2. Move that the Board provide a recommendation of denial and explanation of the recommendation.
Background: See attached staff report.
Issues/Analysis: Staff is proposing a Text Amendment to add Section 155.08 (I) Institutional Zoning Districts Freestanding Signs, permitting the addition of electronic message board signs to the permitted freestanding monument signs in the Institutional Districts of the City, and a related text amendment to Section 153 to add definitions in support of the changes.
Special Consideration: This text amendment would cure a current violation where a internally illuminated sign was upgraded to include a message board sign.
