Background: This Resolution constitutes the Preliminary Rate Resolution as defined in Chapter 161, Section 161.05(H)(2). of the Port St. Lucie Code of Ordinance, which initiates the annual process for updating the Assessment Roll and directs the imposition of Residential Street Lighting Assessments for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2022.

Issues/Analysis: The City Manager or his designee is hereby directed to prepare an updated Streetlight Assessment Roll for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2022 in the manner provided in Chapter 161 of the Port St. Lucie Code of Ordinance.

Financial Information: For the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2022, for which Residential Street Lighting Assessments for residential street lighting services are to be re-imposed, the Residential Street Lighting Cost shall be allocated among all parcels of assessed property, based upon the number of platted residential lots on each parcel. The City recommends a rate of assessment equal to $26.00 (no increase or decrease from last year) for each platted residential lot for street lighting service for fiscal year 2022-2023.
