Strategic Plan Link: The City's Goal of Strategic Growth for a Resilient Future.

Executive Summary (General Business): The Planning and Zoning Department is submitting EAR-based amendments to the City's comprehensive plan for City Council approval to transmit the proposed amendments to the Florida Department of Commerce (state land planning agency) for review. In 2024, the City hired Inspire Placemaking to assist the Planning and Zoning Department in updating the City's comprehensive plan. Chapter 163, Part II, Florida Statues, requires all local governments within the State of Florida to maintain an adopted local government comprehensive plan and to evaluate its comprehensive plan at least once every seven years to determine if plan amendments are necessary to reflect changes in state requirements since its last update. The most recent EAR-based amendments to the City's comprehensive plan were completed in 2020.
