Executive Summary (General Business): To provide an update on a City/County video collaboration that tells the story of the region's water issues.
Presentation Information: Port St. Lucie Communications Director Sarah Prohaska and Erick Gill, Communications Director for St. Lucie County, will present a promo video for the series and more details about the project.
Staff Recommendation: Request that the Council Request that the Council hear the presentation
Background: City and County staff met a year and a half ago to brainstorm how we can collaborate to tell the story of our region's water issues, especially those affecting the health of the St. Lucie River and Indian River Lagoon. The goal was to look at how the region got to the point we are at now, where we need to go in the future and what it will take to get there. The result is a new video series called "Our Water," which will include multiple 3-to-5-minute videos looking at different aspects of our water issues.
Issues/Analysis: The first three videos in the series are now complete, and the City and County are ready to begin promoting the series. It will be placed on both websites and government TV channels, along with YouTube and social media platforms. The videos were produced for an intended audience of interested residents, along with state and federal lawmakers and agency staff.
The first three videos will be published on March 23, 2020 and the links can be found below. The series was developed in a way that can be built upon over time and more videos are expected to be added over the coming months and years.
