1. Prepared by: Utility Systems Department ("USD")
2. Parties: City of Port St. Lucie and CHA Consulting, Inc. ("CHA") formerly known as Reiss Engineering, Inc.
3. Purpose: The City has requested CHA proceed with preliminary engineering, permitting, final design, bidding, and construction services for the proposed Nutrient Reduction Improvements to comply with the new basin management action plan ("BMAP") regulations and to meet high-level disinfection requirements.
4. New/Renewal/Modified: Modified
5. Duration: 1,260 days to complete the Scope of Services.
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: Improvements shall ultimately result in a greater finished product (effluent) from the Westport Wastewater Treatment Facility ("WWTF"). Said improvements shall reduce the nitrogen concentration as required by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection ("FDEP") and will also incorporate upgrades to equipment and processes that will aid in the reduction of odors.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): In summary, the total amount of the original contract with Reiss Engineering, Inc. (#20170132) and all prior amendments total $4,037,090.75. The additional funds being requested for this Amendment is $1,173,033.47. If approved, this would thereby raise the total amended contract amount to $5,210,124.22.
