Executive Summary (General Business): The applicant, Caufield & Wheeler, Inc. requests approval for the abandonment of a portion of a 10-foot public utility easement (PUE) affecting Southern Grove Plat No. 33 to resolve a conflict with the City's Lift Station.

Presentation Information: Staff will be available to answer any questions.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the abandonment of easement.

Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the abandonment of easement.
2. Move that the Council not approve the abandonment of easement and provide staff direction.

Background: The plat of Southern Grove Plat No. 33 provides a 10-foot PUE along the outside of Anthony F. Sansone Sr. Boulevard right of way (ROW) for the installation, operation, maintenance, repair, expansion and replacement of underground utilities. The City lift station easement, which abuts along a 45-foot segment of the PUE is dedicated to the City for access to, and installation and maintenance of public utility facilities. The City Utilities Systems requires an unobscured path from the City lift station easement to the ROW for access, installation, and maintenance of the City's public utilities. Therefore, an alternate 10-foot PUE has been provided around the lift station easement to replace the proposed abandonment of easement.
