Executive Summary (General Business): City has evaluated options for disposal of the Solid Waste generated within the City limits and is willing to deliver its solid waste, recyclable materials, and a portion of yard waste materials to the County's System, for processing, recycling, and/or disposal, subject to the terms and conditions in this Agreement.
The Agreement period will be from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2035.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the Interlocal Agreement with St. Lucie County for the processing of its solid waste and recyclable materials.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the Interlocal Agreement with St. Lucie County for the processing of its solid waste and recyclable materials.
2. Move that the Council not approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the Interlocal Agreement with St. Lucie County for the processing of its solid waste and recyclable materials
Background: The County and the City entered into an Amended and Restated Interlocal Agreement (dated February 11, 2019) concerning the management and disposal of the Solid Waste that the City collects and delivers to the County's Solid Waste management and disposal system. County has notified the City that the County does not intend to renew the Amended and Restated Interlocal Agreement when it expires on September 30, 2025.
