Strategic Plan Link: The City's Vision for excellent educational opportunities for lifelong learning.

Executive Summary (General Business): Staff from St. Lucie Public Schools will provide an update on key accomplishments of the 2021-2022 school year and will provide an overview of 2022-2023 goals.

Presentation Information: A 20-minute presentation will be provided by St. Lucie Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Jon R. Prince.

Staff Recommendation: Request that the Council hear the presentation.

Background: St. Lucie Public Schools is celebrating many milestones reached in the 2021-2022 school year and will provide an overview of the gains made to the Mayor and City Council. In addition, staff from St. Lucie Public Schools will discuss their goals for 2022-2023, including:

* Goal 1: To Provide A Safe, Secure, and Predictable Environment For All Students and Staffs, In Schools And On Buses

* Goal 2: To Improve ELA Performance In Grades 3-10

* Goal 3: To Renew the Referendum Which Supports Teacher Retention And Recruitment, School Safety, Expands Mental Health Services, And Provides Resources For Special Programs

* Goal 4: To Secure District Accreditation

Issues/Analysis: The City of Port St. Lucie's Strategic Plan goal of a Smart & Connected City includes a Strategic Initiative to Advance Education & Engagement through Education Partnerships.
