Executive Summary (General Business): Pamela Kinger-Mazzo, Ambassador with the Lupus Foundation of America, SE Region is requesting the City share their information about lighting up purple for Lupus Awareness month on the City’s social media page(s).
Presentation Information: Pamela Kinger-Mazzo, Ambassador with the Lupus Foundation of America, SE Region will be in attendance.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council find that promotion of Lupus Awareness Month serves a valid public and/or municipal purpose and approve the applicant’s sponsorship request.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the sponsorship request.
2. Move that the Council provide staff direction.
Background: The City of Port St. Lucie has previously promoted Lupus Awareness Month by lighting up City Hall and other City facilities purple. This year, the Lupus Foundation has requested that the City share their information about lighting up purple for Lupus Awareness month on the City’s social media page(s).
Financial Information: Nominal use of City staff and equipment to promote requested awareness on the City’s social media page(s).
