Summary Brief (General Business): My First Place Academy, LLC, owner of 2009, 2001 and 1991 SW Savage Blvd., is requesting the City to abandon ten (10) feet of the existing twenty (20) foot wide rear utility and drainage easement. The abandonment is being requested to facilitate the construction of a detention area, control structure, dumpster, pavement area, perimeter wall, and playground within the 10-feet to be abandoned of the 20-feet rear easement.

Staff Recommendation: Move that Council adopt the ordinance to abandon a portion of the easement located at 2009, 2001 and 1991 SW Savage Blvd.

Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the abandonment of the easements.
2. Move that the Council not approve the abandonment of the easements and provide staff direction.

Background: The real property located at 2009, 2001 and 1991 SW Savage Blvd. was platted with a rear twenty (20) foot wide utility and drainage easement. The owner desires to construct a detention area, control structure, dumpster, pavement area, perimeter wall, and playground. Prior to construction, a ten (10) foot wide portion of the easement will need to be abandoned. The owner of the property has submitted a request for the abandonment to the City.
