Executive Summary (General Business): The Port St. Lucie Parks & Recreation Department (PSLPRD), having achieved CAPRA accreditation in September 2021, and receiving multiple awards during that year, has continued its pursuit of excellence with the recognition of a 2022 Florida Recreation & Park Association Award.

Presentation Information: Staff will provide a brief overview regarding the Award and requests a photo opportunity with the City Council.

Staff Recommendation: Hear the presentation regarding PSLPRD's recent accomplishments.

Background: The Florida Recreation & Park Association (FRPA) recognizes, annually, agencies determined as leaders in the field. Through their 2022 Public Relations Campaign Award, FRPA seeks to recognize the individual or agency impacting the public's awareness and recognition of public parks, recreation, and leisure services programs through marketing and public relations. Born from the need to determine changing community needs in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, the PSLPRD Community Input Survey (CIS) quickly became a critical program for the Department. Residents have dramatically increased participation through the survey, with a response rate of 80% year over year. The survey is carefully designed by PSLPRD staff, in coordination with the Communications Department.
