Executive Summary (General Business): The owner of 274 SW Ridgecrest Drive, Port St. Lucie, Florida, is requesting to abandon forty-six (46) square feet of the existing twenty (20) foot wide side lot utility and drainage easement for the construction of a home.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve to abandon forty-six (46) square feet of the side twenty (20) foot side lot utility and drainage easement located at 274 SW Ridgecrest Drive.

Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve to abandon forty-six (46) square feet of the side twenty (20) foot utility and drainage easement located at 274 SW Ridgecrest Drive.
2. Move that the Council not approve the abandonment and provide staff direction.

Background: The real property located at 274 SW Ridgecrest Drive was platted with a side twenty (20) foot wide utility and drainage easement. The owner desires to construct a home. Prior to construction, a forty-six (46) square foot portion of the easement will need to be abandoned. The owner of the property has submitted a request for the abandonment to the City.

Issues/Analysis: The request to abandon a portion of the easement was evaluated by the Public Works Department, Utility Systems Department, and the Public Utility Companies (AT&T, FPL, Comcast, and Florida City Gas).
