Planning and Zoning Board Officers
body

Executive Summary: Ms. Creese resigned. Resolution 24-R59 states: “At the first meeting of the year, members of each Board and Committee shall nominate a Chair, a Vice Chair, and a Chair Pro Tem. Members shall vote for these officers by paper ballot and the City Clerk shall announce the results prior to ending the meeting. The Chair, Vice Chair, and Chair Pro Tem, shall serve one (1) year terms as officers. The Chair shall serve no more than one (1) year term. All election of officers shall be done by paper ballot prepared by the City Clerk.” The Resolution does not make specific provision for a vacancy in an officer position. As the resolution is silent on the vacant officer positions, staff would like the Board to discuss the Board’s vacant officer positions with the resignation of the chairperson and decide if all officers should continue to serve in their current positions until the next election; decide if the vice chairperson shall become the chairperson, the chair pro tem shall become the vice chairperson, and a new chair pro tem shall be elected; or decide if the Board would like to have full elections, knowing that the Board will hold another election in January.
