Executive Summary (General Business): This ordinance amends Chapter 98 of the City's code of ordinances as it relates to the Emergency Management Plan requesting amending the following sections of the Ordinance 98.01 Definitions, 98.02 Declaration Time Limits, 98.03 Order of Succession, 98.04 Powers During Emergency, 98.09 Removal of Debris, and 98.14 the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan

Background: On May 22, 2000, the City Council passed and approved Ordinance 98 which amended Chapter 98 serving to repeal Ordinance 95-56 which was the City's Emergency Management Plan, and substitute the CEOP titled "Emergency Operations Plan, 2000." On September 11, 2006, the City Council passed and approved an amendment to Chapter 98 State of Emergency Plan of the Code of Ordinances amending the Emergency Operations Plan and Sections 98.01 Definitions, 98.04 Powers during an emergency and, Section 98.11 Emergency Response Plan. Amendments to Chapter 98 of the State of Emergency Plan under the Code of Ordinances filed under Ordinance 22-372 will alter sections of the code of ordinances described under the executive summary and promote the City's Emergency Management Plan from a Comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan (CEOP) to a Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP).
