3. Purpose: To repair the pumps that are critical to the operation of the booster station.

5. Duration: 120 days to repair the 2 pumps.
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: Repair the pumps with original OEM parts to maintain the integrity of the pumps.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): Estimated expenditure is $159,609 for both pumps.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council waive the bidding, per Chapter 35.04(c), for good cause shown and approve Carter / VerPlanck, Inc. as the Sole Source provider to repair the main booster pumps at the Glades Booster Pump Station.

Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve Carter / VerPlanck, Inc. to repair the booster pumps.
2. Move that the Council not approve Carter / VerPlanck, Inc. as the Sole Source provider to repair the booster pumps and provide staff with direction.

Background: These pumps are an integral to the function of the Utility's wastewater collection system. These pumps are in need of immediate repair to maintain operations.

Issues/Analysis: Staff has reviewed the proposals and find them reasonable. The Sole Source memo is attached.

Financial Information: Funds are appropriated in the Utility Renewal & Replacement Fund (#438-3513-563000-00000).
