Executive Summary (General Business): The Live Local Act requires the governing body to publish by October 1, 2023, an inventory list of city owned real property which may be appropriate for affordable housing development. On August 4th and August 29th, 2023, representatives from the Departments - NSD, Legal, Planning & Zoning, and CRA met to discuss the strategy for compliance with the new requirements of the Act. The Departments discovered that a list of properties assigned to the Neighborhood Services Department exists which would serve as the best recourse for compliance with the new Act for two reasons. First, the list of properties has been previously identified as parcels of land suitable for affordable housing. Second, the NSD list allows the city to comply with the new requirements of the act within the short timeframe allowed.

Presentation Information: A brief presentation will be given by staff.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the Resolution as recommended by the Neighborhood Services Department.

Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the Resolution.
2. Move that the Council not approve the Resolution and provide staff direction.
