Executive Summary (General Business): The Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) is seeking permission from the City Council to apply for the FY 2022 Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Program (COSSAP) under Subcategory 1b, (suburban area or medium-size county with a population between 100,000 and 500,000). PSLPD intends to apply for funding of $452,158 to obtain an Overdose Diversion/Intervention Detective position. This grant covers a project period of three years starting October 1, 2022, with no match.
