Recognition of the 2023 All-America City Team

Executive Summary (General Business): The City of Port St. Lucie was named a finalist and competed for the first-time ever in the All-America City Awards, presented by the National Civic League. Representatives from the team and sponsors will be present and be recognized for their contributions.
Presentation Information: A 5-minute presentation will be provided by the team representatives.
Staff Recommendation: Request that the Council recognize the work of the 2023 All-America City Award Team.
Background: The 2023 All-America City Award Event was held in Denver, CO from June 9-11, 2023. The year's theme was "Creating Thriving Communities through Youth Engagement." The 2023 All-America City Award recognized communities that are working to improve the health and well-being of young people, with particular attention to efforts that engage young people in this work. The City of Port St. Lucie was honored to be named one of only 20 finalists in the United States and was able to send a delegation representing the staff team and youth representatives nominated by the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County and local schools. While the City was not named in the top ten at our first attempt, Maureen Kenyon received the national All-America City Social Media Award and all who attended learned new ideas to bring home to Port St. Lucie as we launch the first ever Port St. Lucie Youth Council.
