Executive Summary (General Business): The owner of the real property located at 300 NW Peacock Blvd has agreed to sell the property to the City, subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Purchase and Sale Agreement that is being submitted to the City Council for approval.
Presentation Information: Staff will be available to answer any questions.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the Resolution authorizing the acquisition of real property located at 300 NW Peacock Blvd, for the future expansion of the City Hall Complex.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the resolution authorizing acquisition.
2. Move that the Council not approve the acquisition and provide staff direction.
Background: The subject property is located at 300 NW Peacock Blvd in St. Lucie West and consists of a 2-story, 56,000 square foot building that was previously used as a call center for QVC and McKesson.
Issues/Analysis: As the City and its government continues to grow, the City has the need for additional space for use and development. Having the opportunity to purchase a well-maintained building versus new construction allows this goal to be achieved in a shorter period and with less cost associated.
