Executive Summary (General Business): This is a request to amend The Shoppes at Veranda Falls Master Sign Program. This amendment is to add regulations for the commercial, institutional, and residential developments being incorporated into the sign program boundary and to increase the square footage of monument and directional signs.

Presentation Information: Staff will provide a presentation.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council adopt the ordinance as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Board.

Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and adopt the ordinance.
2. Move that the Council not adopt the ordinance and provide direction.

Background: The Program Boundary consists of approximately 91.952 acres and includes residential, institutional, and commercial developments located east of the Florida Turnpike and south of Becker Road. The program will provide comprehensive regulations for all signs located within the boundary of this program. The Planning and Zoning Board recommended approval at their July 2, 2024 meeting.

Issues/Analysis: The Program amendment removes any content-based regulations. The City has changed the requirement for sign programs to have a review board review signs prior to submitting to the city for permitting so all reference to such a board has been removed. The comparison chart attached indicates the changes from the current program to the proposed and provides the comparison to City Sign Code.
