Executive Summary (General Business): The CDBG program provides federal funds for projects and programs that help improve the physical, economic and social conditions of our community. Eligible projects must benefit low- and moderate-income persons, address urgent needs or slum and blight. The attached Action Plan contains projects reviewed and approved by the City's internal CDBG Project Selection Team, and City Management. A draft Project List was presented for discussion
Presentation Information: Presentation by Alex Tasca; staff is available to answer questions and meet with residents that would like to submit public comments.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Board approve the 2023-24 CDBG Action Plan for submission to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) by August 15, 2023, and open the 30 day public comment period (for the period June 27 - July 27, 2023).
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Board amend the recommendation and approve the 2023-24 CDBG Action Plan for submission to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) by August 15, 2023, and open the 30 day public comment period (for the period June 27 - July 27, 2023).
2. Move that the Board not approve the 2023-24 CDBG Action Plan and provide staff direction and open the 30 day public comment period (for the period June 27 - July 27, 2023).
