Executive Summary (General Business): This is the review and approval of the City of Port St. Lucie’s proposed 2026 Federal Program.

 

Presentation Information: A 10-minute presentation will be provided by Kate Parmelee, Deputy City Manager for Strategic Initiatives & Innovation.

 

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council Move that the Council approve the 2026 Federal Program.

 

Alternate Recommendations:

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the 2026 Federal Program

2.                     Move that the Council provide direction.

 

Background: The City Council adopts its Federal Program annually to advance components of the City’s Strategic Plan and other policy priorities.

 

Issues/Analysis: The 119th United States Congress will be the next meeting of the legislative branch of the United States federal government, composed of the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives. The 119th United States Congress is scheduled to meet in Washington, D.C., from January 3, 2025, to January 3, 2027.
