6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: Replace deteriorated materials for ease of use and maintenance purposes as well as provide an updated appearance.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): An additional $34,220.70 for a final contract amount of $566.913.58.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve Amendment #4 to Contract #20210027 for the first-floor renovations at the Police Department with Hedrick Brothers Construction Co., Inc.

2. Move that the Council not approve Amendment #4 to Contract #20210027 and provide staff with direction.
Background: The Police Department building was originally built in 1990. The interior is in need of repairs and renovation to bring up to current standards. The work includes renovations to the lobby, restrooms, locker rooms and fitness areas. The additional expenses were not part of the original scope of work as these items were not revealed until the work was well under way. This work was needed to complete the project and be in compliance with the Florida Building Codes.
