St Lucie Transportation Planning Organization Draft 2045 Long Range Transportation Cost Feasible Plan

Executive Summary (General Business): Staff will present the St Lucie Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) draft 2045 Long Range Transportation Cost Feasible Plan. This draft plan updates the Scenario 2 or Balanced Option presented during the October 7th TPO Board Meeting by identifying specific roadway, sidewalk, and pedestrian projects. The presentation will identify Needs Plan projects that would be funded as well as those that would not be funded based on the Balanced Scenario.
Presentation Information: A fifteen-minute power point presentation will be provided by City and St Lucie County Transportation Organization Staff.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council review and discuss the Cost Feasible Plan projects that are included in Scenario 2 or the Balanced Option. As part of the discussion, any desired modifications to the Cost Feasible Plan project list should be identified.
Background: Every five years, the St Lucie Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) is federally mandated to update the long-range transportation plan (LRTP). Projects listed in the adopted LRTP are eligible to receive federal and state funding.
The St Lucie TPO and their consultant, Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., is working to finalize the 2045 LRTP known as SmartMoves 2045. In this plan, pertinent background information and data is compiled to create two lists of essential transportation infrastructure needed to accommodate travel demand, address safety issues, and meet community needs for the next 25 years.
