body
Submitted By: Brad Keen, Assistant Director, Parks & Recreation Department.

Strategic Plan Link: The City's Mission to be responsive to our community.

Executive Summary (General Business): Rolling Thunder, Inc., is a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping the memory of all prisoners of war and those missing in action (POW/MIA) in the public realm so as not to forget their sacrifice. A simple granite chair etched with the POW/MIA symbol, is proposed for placement at Veterans Memorial Park. The empty chair is symbolic of those U.S. military service members who went to war, did not return, but who are not forgotten.

Presentation Information: The special presentation will take no more than 10 minutes. Brad Keen, Assistant Director, Parks & Recreation Department, will present a brief Power Point presentation and introduce a member of Rolling Thunder, Inc., to briefly address the Council.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the placement of the proposed "POW/MIA Chair of Honor" at Veterans Memorial Park.
