3. Purpose: Establishes spay and neuter services with Humane Society of St. Lucie County and provides an increase in the contract amount based upon the City of Port St. Lucie's population.

5. Duration: October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2024
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: Provides a full-time veterinarian and spay/neuter services by the St. Lucie Humane Society.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): $500,500 per annum for shelter, board and care of animals. This is an increase in the contract of $50,500 based upon the new services added, as well as the City's population increase.

Background: To be responsive to the residents of the City of Port St. Lucie, the Port St. Lucie Department's Animal Control Division worked closely with Melissa McInturff and Dan Wire with the HSSLC, a not-for-profit, to initiate an agreement for animal shelter, board and care.
