body
Submitted By: David Graham, Assistant City Manager
Strategic Plan Link: The City's Mission to provide exceptional municipal services.
Executive Summary (General Business): This resolution has been prepared at the direction of Mayor Shannon Martin to provide for an amendment to the Budget Advisory Committee (BAC) enabling resolution for the elimination of term limits for members of the BAC.
Presentation Information: Staff will be available to respond to questions, if required, by the City Council.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the Resolution.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the Resolution.
2. Move that the Council provide staff direction.
Background: The original Resolution #17-40 which reestablished the BAC provided for a maximum of two, two-year terms for the members who are appointed by and serve at the will of the Mayor. As there has been only one member transition since inception of the current BAC, this amendment will forestall imposition of the term limits requirement which would effectively eliminate committee membership knowledge and continuity of the BAC's work to date and disrupt progress on projects underway.
