Executive Summary (General Business): The Business Accelerator Program is a course offered by Indian River State College's (IRSC) School of Continuing Education and conducted by the Florida Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The City of Port St. Lucie sponsors the cost of the program and provides funding for the Small Business Grant Program.

Presentation Information: A brief presentation of the Business Accelerator Program Spring 2022 graduates will be presented by Susan Klein, Program Coordinator IRSC.

Staff Recommendation: Request that the Council greet the new graduates of the Spring 2022 Business Accelerator Program.

Background: The Business Accelerator Program is a ten-week course is offered by IRSC and conducted by the Florida Small Business Development Center. The Spring 2022 course had thirty-two businesses attend of which twenty businesses successfully graduated by completing at least seven of the ten courses. Twelve companies applied for the small business grant, which will reimburse up to $5,000 for advertising/marketing, purchase of supplies and inventory, professional services and employee training. The businesses that become members of the Florida SBDC will receive continued training and business counseling.
