Strategic Plan Link: The City's Goal of high-quality infrastructure and facilities.

Executive Summary (General Business): Per City Council directive, Staff has compiled a decision packet for Council to review and provide direction upon in the implementation of the Areawide Speed Limit Reduction Plan. Decision topics include, but are not limited to, the following: 1) Acceptance of the Revised Areawide Speed Limit Reduction Plan, 2) Selection of a post typical for installation, 3) Optional Phasing Program, 4) Public Outreach Program, and 5) Optional study on target collector roadways for speed reduction and/or traffic calming.

Presentation Information: Staff shall provide a brief presentation.

Staff Recommendation: Planning Staff Recommends the following: Decision #1 & #2: Select the 2" square post and utilize the $300k funding earmarked within the summer retreat and implement in one (1) phase; and Decision #3: Request Council feedback and proceed with implementation of the Public Outreach Campaign; and Decision #4: Provide Staff direction to pursue the Collector Roadway Traffic Management Plan in FY 21/22.

Background: October 2020, the City Council unanimously approved the adoption of the Multimodal Plan. The Multimodal Plan was the catalyst of growing concerns over a lack of mobility choices within the City of Post St. Lucie, as indicated in the National Community Survey. One of the many recommendations provided in the Multimodal Plan was the incorporation of an areawide speed limit reduction study within applicable neighborhoods.
