Executive Summary (General Business): This City-initiated amendment to Title XI-Business Regulations, Section 110.02 'Proximity to religious institution or school' provides clarity on measuring the required 1,500' separation between establishments that sell alcoholic beverages in multi-use commercial buildings/shopping plazas and religious institutions and schools.

Presentation Information: Staff may provide a presentation.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the text amendment as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Board.

Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the text amendment.
2. Move that the Council deny the text amendment and provide staff with direction.

Background: The Planning and Zoning Board recommended approval at their November 7th, 2023 meeting.

Issues/Analysis: The proposed amendment provides clarification on measuring the required separation distance between single-tenant and multi-tenant buildings that sell alcoholic beverages from religious institutions and schools.
