1. Prepared by: Keith Stewart, Procurement Manager (PMD).
2. Parties: City of Port St. Lucie Utility Systems Department (USD) and Sunshine Land Design, Inc. ("Contractor").
3. Purpose: The City of Port St. Lucie is experiencing growth along the Becker Road corridor, with development of vacant lots, resulting in requests to connect to the USD wastewater system. This project will extend the low-pressure main to connect to the wastewater system benefiting those currently unserved lots. This project also provides water main looping on the south side of Becker Road to ensure continuous utility service to customers. The USD requests to contract with this Contractor to install water and low-pressure force mains on behalf of the USD.
4. New/Renewal/Modified: New.
5. Duration: One year with no option to renew.
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: Expanding the low-pressure system along Becker Road allows for new residential and commercial connections to the wastewater system. The expansion also allows those currently on septic to convert to the City's wastewater collection system. The water main looping provides alternative potable water supply directions in the event of an emergency.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): One time expenditure $1,512,619.42.
