3. Purpose: Automate the existing stormwater facility, improve water quality, and create a redundancy in our storm water system.
4. New/Renewal/Modified: New.
5. Duration: 365 calendar days with no option to renew.
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: This improvement will provide additional safety to the citizens and better manage the stormwater system.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): One-time expense in the amount of $948,654.65.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council award Contract #20230073 and enter into a unit price contract with E & W Mechanical Contracting, LLC for the Rehabilitation / Modifications to the SWW-1 Water Control Structure.

Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and award Contract #20230073.
2. Move that the Council not award Contract #20230073 and provide staff with direction.

Background: The existing structure was constructed in the early 1980's and has become mostly inoperable which compelled the need to re-construct and modernize this critical facility.

An E-Bid was issued on June 7, 2023, to 1,805 potential suppliers. There were 60 plan holders with 4 proposals being received on July 31, 2023.

Issues/Analysis: Staff has reviewed the proposals and finds that E & W Mechanical Contracting, LLC provides the best value to the City. E & W Mechanical Contracting, LLC is a local vendor.
