Parties: City of Port St. Lucie Port St. Lucie Governmental Finance Corporation (GFC) and Church Lane Apiaries, LLC.
Purpose: To allow for the two (2) year renewal / extension of the beekeeping lease agreement (Resolution 24-GFC-14) with Church Lane Apiaries, LLC on portions of property within Southern Grove owned by the GFC.
New/Renewal/Modified: Renewal
Duration: This will be a two (2) year renewal.
Benefits to Port St. Lucie: The City's Goal of a high-performing city government organization.
Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): There is no cost associated with this Lease.

Presentation Information: Staff will be available to answer any questions.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Board approve the Resolution authorizing the execution of the First Amendment to the Beekeeping Lease Agreement.

Alternate Recommendations:
Move that the Board amend the recommendation and approve the Resolution.
Move that the Board not approve and provide staff direction.

Background: Originally, GFC-owned lands were leased to a cattle rancher. However, with the successful sale of GFC property, the remaining parcels had limited access to water and grazing lands making cattle operations difficult. The GFC staff discontinued cattle operations and sought out alternative agricultural uses for the land(s) until such time as the properties are sold for development.
