Executive Summary (General Business): In accordance with City Council Directed Policy # 19-04ccd, a Port St. Lucie resident has requested to place a memorial plaque on a City-owned bench located near the southeast corner of the intersection of Sandia Avenue and SE Crosstown Parkway, in honor of Jennifer "Jenn" DuBey, formerly the Director of Business Development with the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County who passed away in September 2023.

Background: In late August 2023, Jennifer "Jenn" DuBey was involved in an automobile accident along SE Crosstown Parkway near Sandia Avenue. In September 2023, Ms. DuBey succumbed to her injuries. As the Director of Business Development for the St. Lucie County Economic Development Council (EDC), Ms. DuBey played an integral role in the attraction and expansion of major employers to Port St. Lucie. She promoted careers in manufacturing and skilled trades and devoted countless hours to programs that introduced young people to high-paying, sustainable and essential careers in manufacturing, logistics and skilled trades. From industry familiarization tours for high school counselors to the EDC's Ready-To-Work Manufacturing Boot Camps, Ms. DuBey poured her passion into programs to help young people explore technical and trade career opportunities.
