Executive Summary (General Business): The Port St. Lucie Police Department is requesting approval to expend $85,148 of forfeiture funds in accordance with F.S.S. 932.7055 (5a). Once approved by City Council members, the funds will be incorporated into the City’s budget, via the budget amendment process.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the forfeiture request.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the forfeiture request.
2. Move that the Council not approve and provide staff direction on how to proceed with the forfeiture request.
Background: This request represents the initial FY 2023-2024 request to expend Fund #603 Forfeitures.

Financial Information: The expenditure of funds is as follows: $55,148 for forfeiture-related operational costs; $30,000 to support various Crime Prevention and community policing programs including, but not limited to, 211 of the Treasure Coast, the Roundtable of St. Lucie County, We LEAP, Boys & Girls Club, etc.
