Benefits to Port St. Lucie: The project will improve parking lot safety, drainage, accessibility, and functionality while extending the useful life of the facility and reducing future maintenance needs.
Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): One-time expense in the amount of $399,984.75. The project is partially funded through a Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) Waterways Assistance Grant.

Background: Veterans Park at Rivergate Boat Ramp provides direct access to the North Fork of the St. Lucie River and serves as a regional launch site for boating and recreational use. The existing asphalt parking lot dates to approximately 1983 and has reached the end of its useful service life due to significant pavement deterioration, aging drainage infrastructure, and tree-root intrusion.
