Strategic Plan Link: The City's Goal of safe, clean, and beautiful.
Executive Summary (General Business): Approve the new 2026 KPSLB Community Shred Event; review and determine event location, date and time of event, and run of show.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Board recommend adding the new Community Shred Event to the existing KPSLB calendar.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Board amend the recommendation and complete the motion in the affirmative
2. Move that the Board not approve and provide staff direction.
Background: At the 2026 Citizen Summit, residents overwhelmingly voted in favor of a new paper shredding event, rather than adding tire amnesty to the existing Household Hazardous Waste events. This new paper shredding event may be funded by the Litter Control and Prevention Grant - a non-competitive grant available annually through the Florida Department of Transportation. This grant was awarded to KPSLB on 12/12/2025 and all final reports are due on June 30, 2026.
