3. Purpose: The purpose of the project is to relocate and replace the extensive underground equipment for the interactive fountain to inside an existing maintenance room located adjacent to the Village Square plaza stage and convert it to an above ground existing equipment and control room.
4. New/Renewal/Modified: New.
5. Duration: 150 calendar days with no option to renew.
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: The equipment has reached the end of its expected service life and needs to be upgraded and replaced to mitigate additional major equipment failures.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): One-time expenditure of $898,467.

Background: The City's interactive fountain at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center built in 2008 is frequently used and is maintained by City staff. The existing controls, pumps, filters, and other equipment are all located inside two existing underground vaults which require confined space entry procedures for safety when staff performs the routine maintenance and repairs.
