Executive Summary (General Business): Due to reduced revenue projections, roundabout projects are unlikely to be included in the upcoming CIP budget. As a result, public-art contracts for the Paar roundabouts are paused until the budget is finalized in July, since funding for these projects is uncertain and not expected to be approved.

Background: In January, the Public Art Advisory Board (PAAB) voted to move forward with artist recommendations to commission sculptures for two new roundabouts at Paar & Darwin and Paar & Savona for installation in Spring 2027.
Issues/Analysis: The projected reduction in revenues has affected the progression of several roundabout projects that were initially anticipated to include public art. The Public Works Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) budget was presented to the City Council on April 20, with formal adoption scheduled for the Summer Workshop. At this time, the budget does not include any roundabout projects. Consequently, the contracts related to the selection of artwork for CIP-funded roundabouts have been placed on hold for the foreseeable future, or at least until the budget is finalized in July.
Outside of what is noted above, we also have Village Green Dr. on the horizon; however, we will not know whether we have secured a construction grant until January 2027.
