Executive Summary (General Business): The Director of Solid Waste (and staff) will provide Council with an overview of the convenient Drop-off Center's operational hours and guidelines, proposed updates, and engage in a discussion with Council on future goals for the Center.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council provide feedback on proposed operational updates and guidelines for the Convenient Drop-off Center and provide direction on the future goals of the Convenient Drop-off Center.

Background: The Convenient Drop-off Center (the "Center") was established in 2021 due to the challenges the City faced with the solid waste service provider at the time. A Solid Waste taskforce was established that same year to review the franchise agreement, and ongoing solid waste challenges to provide short- and long-term solutions. In December of 2021 the Solid Waste Taskforce initial short-term recommendations resulted in the continued use of the Center. In March of 2022 the Solid Waste Taskforce long-term recommendations resulted in monthly curbside service which was contingent on the continued operation of the Center. Currently, overall operations of the Center have been scaled back, with the Center collecting/accepting yard debris, bulk debris, and cardboard recycling.
